Hussongs Cantina Hussongs Cantina - Established in 1892 Hussongs is the oldest bar in the Californias, Hussong’s was originally a stagecoach stop built by its German founder Johan Hussong. Some say that the city of Ensenada was built around this bar. Famous for it's original margaritas that were said to be invented, back in October, 1941 by bartender Don Carlos Orozco. Isla Todos Santos photo by: David Hopps Isla Todos Santos (Todos Santos Island) - a small island located west of Ensenada. Access is only by boat, however they can be rented out from Ensenada, or La Bufadora (about 2 hours by boat). This island is known for its amazing surfing. Every year there are several surfing contest held at Isla Todos Santos, such as Billabong XXL. Wave faces can reach above 60 feet on the island. Brad Gerlach, 2006 winner of Big XXL, surfed a wave of 68 feet in December 2006.
La Bufadora (The Buffalo Snort) La Bufadora (The Buffalo Snort) - is located at the end of Punta Banda 17 miles south of Ensenada. La Bufadora (The Blowhole) is formed by a hollow rock formation that acts as a sea spout. During incoming tides, water rushes into an underground cavern, sending spray shooting into the air like a geyser. Las Cañadas Las Cañadas - is located 30 minutes south of Ensenada and provides Eco Tours, Biking, Hiking, Camping, Cabins, Swimming Pools, Water Slides, and Lake Fishing. The Slide at Las Canadas is one of the biggest of the region: 110 meters of pure fun! And for the smaller children, the Pirate’s hide-out, 1600 square meters of splash area with more than 20 water games.
Malecon (El Malecon) Malecon (El Malecon) - is a new waterfront walkway along the downtown waterfront from Azueta to Av. Castillo. The open air Fish market is located along the Malecon. Visit Pancho a huge sea lion at Parque Ventana al Mar (Window to the Sea Park). See the giant monumental Mexican flag on a 350-foot-tall pole, the Malecon offers panoramic view of Todos Santos Island and Punta Banda.
Mission Santo Tomás Mission Santo Tomás - was founded on April 24, 1791 by the Dominican missionary José Loriente, with the authorization of the president of the missions, Juan Crisóstomo Gómez. The mission was established in the territory of the Kumeyaay, on the mountainside of the San Solano hills in northwestern Baja California, Mexico. It bridged the 120-kilometer gap between the previously founded missions of San Vicente and San Miguel.
Open Air Fish Market (Mercado de Mariscos) Open Air Fish Market (Mercado de Mariscos) - Open air fish market located in on the waterfront malecon in Ensenada features many types of fish and shellfish. It is Baja's largest seafood market. Most of the market's open air stalls sell catches fresh off the fishing boats that dock nearby. The local restaurants offer fresh fish and other types of seafood. Plaza Civica Plaza Civica - or the Civic Plaza, an attractive park on Blvd. Costero & Macheros is known locally as "Three Heads Park." This is because it features three giant golden busts of Mexican Heroes Benito Juarez, Miguel Hidalgo and Venustiano Carranza. The park offers panoramic views of Ensenada.
Punta Banda Punta Banda - is a rocky peninsula jutting into the Pacific Ocean, about 20 miles (32 km.) southwest of Ensenada. It forms the southern end of Todos Santos Bay. Punta Banda is a popular spot for kayaking scuba and skin diveing. La Bufadora is located at the tip of Punta Banda. There are also several hot springs in the area.
Statue of Tara and Ecological Park Statue of Tara and Ecological Park - is a large colorful statue built on a small hill, just beneath the municipal water tank, in the northeast part of the city. It was built by sculptors from Nepal and Bhutan on the original site of the 1930s Fort Keki, and presented as a gift of peace and friendship by a Nepalese international cultural organization in 1993. This exotic landmark, symbolizing Mother Nature, is set in what tourist brochures call an ecological park.
Riviera Del Pacifico Riviera Del Pacifico - Once a casino and hotel owned by famous boxer Jack Dempsy. Rumored to be backed by mobster Al Capone. It was a favored gathering place for wealthy Americans and Mexicans during the Prohibition era. Among the glamorous clientele were Bing Crosby, Rita Hayworth and Johnny Weissmuller. Today The Social, Civic and Cultural Center of Ensenada occupies the former Riviera del Pacifico, and is used primarily for special functions, such as conventions, social events and occasional art shows.
Valle de Guadalupe (Valley of Guadalupe) Valle de Guadalupe (Valley of Guadalupe) - is a village located in the municipio of Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico 14 miles (20 km) north of the town of Ensenada. The weather in this region is perfect for growing grapes. 90% of all the wine produced in Mexico comes from this region. The guadalupe valley is located 30 minutes outside of Ensenada.

Wineries Wineries - This area of Mexico has been called "the new Napa Valley" because of its untapped potential as a great wine region. The Mission Santo Tomas de Aquino was the first winery in Baja in 1791, it is located about thirty miles south of Ensenada. Most of the wineries themselves are about a 30-40 minute drive from Ensenada, in the Valle de Guadalupe. The are daily tours and tasting.
