Getting to La Paz by Air Getting to La Paz by Air (airport code: LAP )
Marquez de Leon International Airport is located 12 KM south of the main city. The La Paz airport is small, however there are snack bars and restaurants. Flights arrive nearly every day from Los Angeles into La Paz's modern airport and last only about two hours.

Getting to La Paz by land Getting to La Paz by Land
Driving to La Paz from the southern border of the United States will take you about 18-22 hours on Highway 1 (Transpeninsular Highway) just a little under 1000 miles. . Travel should be limited to federal highways (many are toll roads) during daylight hours. Overnight stops should only be made in major centers, reputable hotels, or secure campsites. If you have a vehicle breakdown or roadside emergency, the "Green Angels" provide free roadside assistance (they charge for parts only) on all major toll highways. MAKE SURE YOU GET MEXICO INSURANCE
Getting to La Paz by Ferry Getting to La Paz by Ferry
From Mainland Mexico there is a ferry that crosses the Sea of Cortez to and from La Paz to the port cities of Mazatlan and Los Mochis. The ferries do not run everyday so be sure to check departure times. The ferries are equipped with restaurant and bar, and the can even take a couple of cars aboard. The ferry trip to/from Mazatlan takes 18 hours and from Los Mochis takes around 8 hours. For info check: www.bajaferries.com
