Yoga in loreto

Transformal Therapy and Yoga

You may simply request a massage or acupuncture treatment right in the privacy of your own casita, or you may advance your healing process by setting up a personally guided meditation. Our onsite psychotherapist and meditation teacher is very experienced in addressing each persons ailments and leading you through them into a "quiet awareness of who you really are and what it means for spirit to become human". EL SANTUARIO welcomes Maria-Teresa Solomons (MT). MT studied Astanga Vinyasa Yoga in Mysore, India with Pattabhi Jois and completed an internship with Derek and Radha at the Practice Place, Crete, Greece. Since then she has been studying and teaching Pranayama with yoga and breathwork practices and for the past several years has used these mainly for Freediving.

The Facilities

Living in El Santuario
Experience simple living by the sea at El Santuario. Enjoy the surrounding sandy dunes and vast sea from your intimate cottage on the beach. We call these individual secluded bungalows, "casitas". Some are nestled privately in the white sand dunes while others overlook the beach and beautiful secluded bay of Ensenada Blanca. Kick back in your hammock, relax, and watch the natural world slowly revolve around you. Each casita is very separated from all other structures and very private. Like all of the facilities, the casitas are environmentally sensitive. Although there are no plugs for hairdryers or curling irons in the casitas, there are lights which run on a solar system. There are no telephones, faxes, or computers to interrupt natures perfect energy flow, however, in the case of an emergency there is a cell phone and internet access is nearby.
Loreto Baja Food

Food

This is El Santuarios open-air kitchen. Local indigenous materials were used for most of the construction of the kitchen and dining area as well as the living quarters. Here food is prepared for you by a local Mexican cook or you may cook your own meals at any time. All the food here is mainly organic and always fresh. A variety of local fresh seafood is always plentiful and locally grown fruits and vegetables will satisfy the most discerning vegetarian diet. This is a hands-on kitchen so you may participate as much as you desire, including such things as learning how to make tortillas and tamales! Don't worry about drinking the water here. Our water is as pure and fresh as it gets anywhere. It comes from a mountain spring well in the Sierra de La Giganta mountains behind the Retreat.

Wilderness Exploration

Eco Tours in Loreto
Enjoy horseback riding into the nearby canyons and dry riverbeds. Disappear for hours into the back canyons and desert arroyos off trails or on trails. Hike the peaks up to 3000 feet, find the hidden caves or take a dip in the mountain pools and running streams. Meditate on a huge boulder, or simply contemplate the giant Higuera trees and their great root systems. Go it alone or follow our guide to the areas known to them for generations. Guided hikes and horseback riding are an extra charge. Or simply wander the pristine deserted beach in front of your casita to find countless types of shells and driftwood. You may even find yourself immersed in the spectacular event of baby turtle hatchlings finding their way to the water from their nests, which happens once in a while in Ensenada Blanca!
