GETTING TO PUERTO NUEVO BY LAND
When Traveling in Baja California or Mexico, make sure you purchase Mexico Insurance. To find a reputable company see our list of Mexican Auto Insurance Providers
FROM SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
Both Interstate highways 5 south and 805 south merge at the San Ysidro, USA/Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico border crossing. When you cross the border, stay in the right lane and, as you go up over the overpass, keep moving into the far right lane marked with signs that read "Rosarito/Ensenada" to merge with the road that runs along the actual border between the US and Mexico (there will be a tall fence on your right).
As you get to the top of the hill, move into the right lane. At the bottom of that hill take the fork to the right. It is marked with arrows "Rosarito/Ensenada Cuota." (Cuota is the Toll Road).
You will come to the first toll booth almost immediately (cost about $2). Continue on the road through the second toll booth (another $2). This is just past downtown Rosarito. Proceed another 9 miles where you will find an exit sign marked "Puerto Nuevo." Exit here and turn left heading south onto the Carretera Libre (the parallel Free Road). In less than 2 miles, you will see the entrance to Puerto Nuevo.

DRIVING FROM ARIZONA
Take Interstate 8 west to San Diego until you see the ocean -- turn left! To be a tad more specific, merge onto Interstate 805 or Interstate 5 south in San Diego. You will arrive at the border in less than 10 minutes. Follow the instructions above.

DRIVING FROM LAS VEGAS
Take Interstate 15 west until you see the water then turn left! All kidding aside, merge onto Interstate 805 or Interstate 5 south when you reach San Diego. You will arrive at the border in less than 10 minutes. Follow the instructions above.
