| The Bay of Banderas is famous as the breeding ground of the Humpback and Orca Whales. Each year hundreds of these very beautiful whales journey to Puerto Vallarta to mate and then give birth to their calves. Whale season is between the months of January to end of April. You can go out on a boat in the breeding grounds and suddenly be surrounded by dozens of whales that approach your boat. If you are lucky you will be able to touch them.
