Highway 57, also known as the Pan-American Highway, connects Queretaro to Mexico City in the south and to San Luis Potosi in the north. Highway 115 links the city to Guanajuato. Travel should be limited to federal highways (many are toll roads) during daylight hours. Overnight stops should only be made in major centres, reputable hotels, or secure campsites. If you have a vehicle breakdown or roadside emergency, the "Green Angels" provide free roadside assistance (they charge for parts only) on all major toll highways.
