Charreria and bullfighting are popular sports in Mexico, and many large cities have bullrings. Mexico City has the largest bullring in the world, seating 55,000 people. Bullfights usually occur on Wednesdays, and other weekdays. Other popular sports and activities include football (soccer), boxing, baseball, basketball, and Jai alai. The game of football (soccer), known as fútbol is by far the most popular sport in the country. Every state has its own representative teams. Below is a list of teams clubs and proffesional organizations in Mexico.

Soccer (Fútbol)  
The Mexico national football team - El Tri - is the national football team of Mexico and is controlled by the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FEMEXFUT). The team and has never been outside the top 20, in the FIFA World Rankings. Since the 1990s, Mexico has been one of the most consistent nations in the world having qualified for four straight World Cups, and reaching the second round on all four occasions. They have also had strong showings in the Copa America ever since their first invitation from the CONEMBOL in 1993.
Club Tijuana Gallos de Caliente - also known simply as Gallos Cliente is a professional football team that currently plays in the Primera División A in Mexico. As is the case with several Primera División A clubs, the Tijuana club is affiliated with a major league club - Querétaro FC of the Mexican First Division. Their home ground is CREA field, located a few miles away from downtown Tijuana.
Club Deportivo Guadalajara - also known as Guadalajara and usually referred to by its nickname Chivas (goats), is a Mexican sports club. While the club is active in basketball, tennis, and cycling, it is most widely known for their professional football club. Guadalajara is the only soccer team in Mexico's history that only has Mexican players representing its colors.
Club Jaguares de Chiapas - also known as Jaguares, is a Mexican professional football club. Jaguares plays in the Primera División de México. The team plays in Estadio Víctor Manuel Reyna, built in 1982 to hold 6,000 spectators, but enlarged in 2002 to a capacity of 25,000.
The Liga Mexicana de Béisbol - (English: Mexican Baseball League) is a summer baseball league with teams based across Mexico. It is considered a AAA level minor league. When it was founded in 1925, the league included six teams (74 Regimiento, México, Agraria, Nacional, Guanajuato and Águila). It reorganized in 1955, when it became a Class AA minor league and once more in 1967, when it attained Class AAA status; the league is now composed of sixteen teams, divided equally into a north and a south zone, the champions of which meet to contest a best-of-seven game playoff series.
Águilas de Mexicali - (Mexicali Eagles) is a Mexican baseball team playing for the Liga Mexicana del Pacífico (Mexican Pacific League) in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. The team was founded on October 14, 1976.

The Tijuana Dragons - (in spanish: Los Dragones de Tijuana) is an American Basketball Association (ABA) team based in Tijuana, Mexico. The team began play in the fall of 2004. They finished the 2005 season with a 10-16 record and a 7th place finish in the Red Division. They are possibly most notable for having former NBA all-star Dennis Rodman on their team.
